Our story

About Neuro-Café

We exist because getting a diagnosis is only the beginning, and for too many people, it can feel like the end of any real support.

Why Neuro-Café exists

Neuro-Café was founded by Tim, a late-diagnosed neurodivergent man who, like so many others, found himself without support after his diagnosis. A diagnosis can explain a great deal - but for many people, it marks the point where formal support ends.

That experience, and the realisation of how many others share it, led to Neuro-Café. A free, community-led space where neurodivergent people, their families and the professionals who support them can come together, ask questions and feel genuinely supported.

We are not a clinical service. We are a community. And we believe that community is exactly what is missing.

“A diagnosis can explain a lot, but for many people, support ends there. Neuro-Café was created so nobody has to navigate it alone.”
Tim, Founder of Neuro-Café

What we stand for

Free, always

Information and community should never have a price tag. Our events are free and always will be. We will never sell to you.

No jargon

We talk in plain English. No clinical language, no acronym soup. Just honest, clear, helpful conversation.

Lived experience at the centre

Neuro-Café was built by someone who has been through it. That lived experience informs everything we do.

Genuinely welcoming

Diagnosed or not. Adult or child. Family member or professional. You are welcome here, exactly as you are.

Connected to real expertise

We bring qualified professionals to our events, not to sell, but to share knowledge and signpost people in the right direction.

What we are not

Let us be clear

Neuro-Café provides informal support, education, signposting and community connection. It does not provide medical diagnosis, clinical treatment, legal advice or crisis support.

Not a medical service

We do not diagnose, prescribe or provide clinical treatment. Please see your GP or a qualified clinician for medical matters.

Not a crisis line

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please call 999 or contact a crisis service such as Samaritans on 116 123.

Not a legal service

We do not provide legal advice. For legal matters relating to education, employment or healthcare, please consult a qualified solicitor or advocate.

A community that cares

We are here to connect, inform and support. We will always point you in the right direction, even if that direction is elsewhere.
